The cutlery box layout

 “Anyone for T” was built in 2009 and is my first venture into T gauge produced by Eishindo of Japan. T, stands for three, the distance between the rails in millimetres, and is a scale of 1:450 making it now the smallest commercially available model railway. So far only 4 x 4 car Japanese EMUs are available. Each set has 2 power cars and working front and rear lights. Power from a purpose built controller is at 4.5 volts DC either by batteries or mains adapter. 

My layout is in a cutlery box from Ebay, and features O gauge people and scenery – yes I’ve gone smaller and bigger from my usual layouts to create what I hope will be a private double track T gauge layout being an O gauge garden railway.  

All the T gauge track, buildings and accessories are from Eishindo whereas the English garden and people are from a number of UK sources. The flower gardens and lawn were built for me by Rodney Hodge. 

Buildings, trees, boats, animals, bicycles and people are already available in T gauge. Flexible track and other items such as points will be released in the future. 

The layout appeared as work in progress at the Sutton Coldfield show in 2009 and was completed in time for Zedex in the same year.
